Function Supervisor

Purpose of the function:

Manage and execute the agreed cleaning program at the agreed quality level and productivity in the role of supervisor. The working activities take place in the hotel and include the execution of general cleaning maintenance and monitoring tasks.

Position in the organisation:

Direct supervisor:               Head Housekeeping/Service manager/Area manager

Supervising to:                   5 to 15 employees general cleaning maintenance

Content of the function:

Supervise the operational tasks. Key tasks include:

  • Assign tasks to employees, give instructions and control the quality and productivity;
  • Train new employees and introduce them to the working practises;
  • Motivate employees to live up to the working practises, code of conduct and identify performance issues;
  • Report occupation and other execution problems to the direct supervisor and execute the solutions assigned by the direct supervisor;
  • Take care of proper storage and management of products and materials. Take care of the availability of enough products, depending on the predefined procedure;
  • Identify desired adjustments in the program as a result of the operating conditions. Advise the direct supervisor about the needed occupation/time, working practises etc. to realise change plans;
  • Justify the executed program towards the client, mainly via the logbook. Register the executed work and eventual details. React on the written complaints or requests of the hotel for additional work after alignment with the direct supervisor;
  • Process the hour-administration;
  • Manage the access keys, close the service- and working areas after working hours and monitor the follow up of the prescribed rules and procedures of safety, closing and other procedures;
  • Maintain contacts with employees and direct supervisor;
  • Be attentive to the correct execution of the working program by employees;
  • Be reachable by phone for the direct supervisor for all incoming questions;
  • Self-performing all common cleaning tasks

Function-requirements:

  • Preferably a finished HM/FM-education, complemented with relevant working experience;
  • Excellent spoken and written knowledge of the Dutch language, complemented with a good basic knowledge of English;
  • You are representative, hospitable and service-oriented;
  • Organising, motivating and controlling are competencies that fits your personality.
